The Rotary Bell

A lot of Rotary clubs begin and end their meetings with the strike of a bell – a wood gavel slammed into a large and heavy bronze bell topped with Rotary International’s emblem.

Why do clubs do this?

Sure, the bell is a symbol of Rotary and it is impressive.

I Googled  Rotary Bell  Guess what image popped up?

The rotary phone  ! !

Maybe this is a sign to keep up with the times?   What do you think?
